GST on EV batteries likely to be reduced to bring down the cost of electric vehicles
Lithium-ion batteries, which form the core of most of the electric vehicles available in India, attract a Goods and Services Tax (GST) of 18 percent. It is usually the price of batteries that keeps the overall cost of an EV high.
