Google Chrome can now save data upto 70 percent

Using a mobile phone to access a web app on a slow connection can be a very painful and frustrating experience. Everybody has at some point experienced this. The reason for this is, on average  60 to 70 percent data on a website   consists of images and they can take lot of time to load on a slow connection.

Google has tried to ease this pain by incorporating a new data saver mode in its Chrome browser. When activated this will reduce the amount of images loaded and thus data consumption. This will also enable much faster website loading.

 

For Android device

  1. Touch the Chrome menu, then Settings.
  2. Under “Advanced,” touch Data Saver.
  3. Slide the switch ON. You can switch this off at any time.

  3. Slide the switch ON. You can switch this off at any time.

You need install the data saver extension.

To turn on Data Saver:

  1. Install the Data Saver extension from Chrome Web Store.
  2. Data Saver should be turned on by default. If it’s not, click Turn On Data Saver.

To turn off Data Saver:

  1. In the menu bar, click the Data Saver icon Data Saver icon.
  2. Click Turn Off Data Saver.
